Graphite heat exchangers
There are heat transfer processes in industry that must be carried out between highly corrosive media. For example, in absorption processes in the production of hydrochloric or sulfuric acid. The use of steels for such processes is impossible due to their high corrosion rate. The material of the heat exchange surface, graphite, is absolutely inert to the action of acids of practically any concentration. Previously, ceramics were also actively used as a heat exchange surface for heat exchangers for such processes. However, due to the low heat transfer coefficient and bulkiness of the design, ceramic heat exchangers have gradually been replaced by graphite heat exchangers in most chemical processes.
There are many types of graphite heat exchangers - plate heat exchangers, tube or shell-and-tube heat exchangers, block heat exchangers, submersible, irrigation and others.
OPEKS ENERGOSYSTEMY supplies the following main types of graphite heat exchangers:
A) Plate graphite heat exchangers;
C) Shell and tube graphite heat exchangers;
C) Block graphite heat exchangers.
